[Brief Introduction]It is an important annual research report jointly compiled by the Center for Social Security Studies of Wuhan University, a key research base of humanities and social sciences of the Ministry of Education, and organized by many well-known scholars in the field of social security in China. It focuses on the frontier issues of social security theoretical research and international comparative research, as well as the focus, difficulties and hot issues in the current reform process of China's social security system.The annual report has been published continuously for many years. As of now, China's Social Security Reform and Development Report 2020-2021 2005-2006, 2006-2007, 2007-2008, 2009-2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020-2021 have been published.Since 2011, China's Social Security Reform and Development Report has been selected as the "Ministry of Education's Philosophy and Social Science Development Report Funding Project", and the only annual report in the field of social security has been selected, which can be said to be the most influential annual report in the field of social security released by the research department.

The report is guided by the CPC Central Committee's Proposal on Formulating the 14th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and the long-term Goals for the year 2035, which was adopted at the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee. The report invited several well-known social security scholars to systematically study and explain the important discussions on social security in the communique of the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China from 14 aspects, including "Construction of China's multi-level social security system", "construction of a multi-pillar pension insurance system", "promoting the national pooling of basic pension insurance" and "improving the basic medical security system". This report can provide decision-making reference for the reform of China's social security system during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and even in 2035.
