【Abstract】Social security expenditure has a great impact on the quality of life of the elderly population, and a reasonable expenditure structure can promote the elderly population to share the fruits of economic and social development in a healthier and more dignified manner. Based on the survey data of the "China Health and Pension Tracking Survey" database in 2015, it is found that per capita social assistance expenditure has a negative effect on the quality of life of the elderly population; The per capita expenditure of social insurance funds is conducive to improving the quality of life of the elderly population. In terms of different impact effects, per capita social assistance expenditure has a greater negative impact on the quality of life of the elderly aged 60~69 and the elderly with lower incomes. Based on this, the level of social security expenditure should be appropriately adjusted and the structure of social security expenditure should be optimized. Establish service assistance programs and psychological assistance programs suitable for different elderly populations, and take into account the needs of young and low-income elderly populations; pay attention to the tilt of social security expenditure towards social insurance fund expenditure; Gradually reduce regional and rural-urban disparities in social security spending.
