【Abstract】China's social security undertaking has gone through three main stages of development: start-up and adjustment, stagnation and recovery, and exploration and reform. Since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the pace of development of China's social security system has accelerated, and it is facing new opportunities and challenges. To promote the development of China's social security in the new era, efforts should be made to realize the national overall planning of basic old-age insurance for urban workers; Maintain and increase the value of the pension insurance fund; improve the social pension service system and accelerate the development of the "silver industry"; further deepen the reform of the social medical insurance system; accelerate the establishment of a housing security supply system; Establish an unemployment assistance system with employment promotion as the core; optimize the social assistance system and promote institutional integration; Accelerate the process of internationalization of social security.
