In order to promote the smooth development of the major projects of the key research base of Humanities and social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, on the morning of September 9, 2023, the opening report of the "14th Five-Year Plan" major project of the key research base of humanities and social Sciences of universities was held in the conference room of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University. The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor Xue Huiyuan, Deputy director of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University. Prof. Liu Zilan, member of the Party Committee and Vice President of Hunan Normal University; Prof. Li Chungen, Member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics; Prof. Lin Mingang, Director of the Social Security Research Center of Nanjing University; Prof. Deng Dasong, Director of the Academic Committee of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University; Prof. Zhao Man, Director of the Collaborative Innovation Center of Urban and Rural Community Social Governance of Hubei Province, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law Are invited to attend the conference, Professor Jiang Chuanzeng, Executive Deputy Director of the Office of the Working Committee for Disabled Persons of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Comrade Ge Jinzhong, Deputy director of the Office of the Working Committee for Disabled Persons of Hubei Provincial People's Government, Professor Fang Debin, Deputy Director of the Institute of Humanities and Social Sciences and Director of the Research Platform Construction Department of Wuhan University, Professor Liu Wei, Dean of the School of Politics and Public Administration of Wuhan University, and other leaders were invited to attend the opening meeting.

At the opening ceremony, Deputy Director Xue Huiyuan introduced the participating experts, scholars and leaders in turn, and extended a warm welcome to the guests on behalf of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University. Subsequently, Vice President Fang Debin reviewed the development process and achievements of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University since the "13th Five-Year Plan", and thanked the School of Politics and Public Administration and the participating leading experts for their attention and support to the development of the Center as always. On behalf of the School of Politics and Public Administration of Wuhan University, Dean Liu Wei thanked and welcomed all the experts for their visit and guidance, and wished the conference a success. Jiang Chuanzeng, deputy director of the Office of the Provincial Disability Committee, thanked the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University for its attention and policy suggestions on the employment of poor groups and disabled people, and said that it would strongly support the future work of the center. Subsequently, Jiang Chuanzeng, deputy director of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University, awarded the plaque of "Hubei Province Disability Cause Development Think Tank Research Base". After the opening ceremony, the participating experts, scholars and leading comrades took a group photo at the entrance of the center.

Then, the four project leaders, Professor Meng Yingying, Professor Lu Guoquan, Professor Xiang Yunhua and Professor Zhang Qilin, successively discussed "Research on the path mechanism and reform Strategy of the Pension Security System to promote common prosperity", "Research on Building a more equitable medical security system", "Helping the weak: Research on the policy system of Employment Assistance for disadvantaged Groups ", "Research on the Theoretical construction and realization path of the Third Distribution of Common Prosperity Goal", the research significance and research status, project structure, research objectives and basic contents, key difficulties and innovations, research plans and expected results of the four "14th Five-Year Plan" major projects were reported. The invited experts, Professor Deng Dasong, Professor Lin Mingang, Professor Zhao Man, Professor Liu Zilan and Professor Li Chungen, fully affirmed the innovation, academic value and practical significance of each project, and demonstrated the pulse of key issues such as the feasibility of each research, and accurately predicted and guided the difficulties that may be encountered in the research. The four project leaders also responded to the valuable suggestions put forward by the experts one by one, and said that they would lead the research team to complete the tasks with high quality according to the opinions of the experts.

At the end of the meeting, Deputy Director Xue Huiyuan expressed his sincere thanks to the experts and leaders who attended the meeting, and hoped that through the opening report, the four research groups of the "Fourteenth Five-Year Plan" major project of the base would further improve the research design, fully absorb the constructive opinions of the experts, complete the scientific research objectives as scheduled, and produce high-level research results. The meeting was fully recognized by the participating experts and leaders, successfully completed the agenda, and effectively promoted the research of the "14th Five-Year Plan" major projects of the base.
