On the afternoon of September 28, 2024, the forum on "Social Security Development Path with Chinese Characteristics", jointly organized by the Social Development and Social Security Committee of the Chinese Sociological Association, the School of Public Administration of Central China Normal University, the School of Public Affairs of Xiamen University, and the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University, was held at Central China Normal University. The forum was chaired by Professor Xu Zengyang, Dean of the School of Public Administration of Central China Normal University and Head of the Public Policy Research Center of the Faculty of Political Science.

At the beginning of the meeting, Liu Hongda, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and Vice President of Central China Normal University, delivered a speech. President Liu pointed out in his speech that Central China Normal University vigorously promotes the development of the discipline of public management in terms of policy support, resource investment, and talent introduction. At present, the national social development situation has put forward strategic new requirements for improving the social security system. We hope to cooperate sincerely with fraternal universities, societies, and committees in the future, share research results and cutting-edge thinking in the field of social security, explore the profound connotation and broad prospects of China's social security development path, and contribute to the exploration of a social security development path that adapts to China's national conditions.

Subsequently, Ding Jianding, advisor to the Social Development and Social Security Professional Committee of the Chinese Sociological Association and Dean of the School of Sociology at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, delivered a speech. Dean Ding pointed out in his speech that social security systems in various countries have their own characteristics, and the development path of social security with Chinese characteristics not only needs to follow the general laws of social security systems, but also needs to be in line with national conditions and historical and cultural genes. At the same time, he also pointed out that the global social security system will face new changes in the future. China's social security system will continue to develop in the context of Chinese path to modernization and become an important part of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

Gao Herong, Chairman of the Social Development and Social Security Professional Committee of the Chinese Sociological Association, Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Minister of Propaganda of Xiamen University, pointed out that the committee actively promotes theoretical innovation and policy practice in the field of social security. Through organizing high-level academic conferences, conducting in-depth grassroots research, and building high-level academic exchange platforms, it provides theoretical support and practical guidance for improving the social security system. He also pointed out that in the new era, "Chinese path to modernization is the key to people's livelihood", social security has a huge space for development. In the future, the field of social security will continue to attract experts and scholars for in-depth exploration, and jointly promote social security with Chinese characteristics to a new stage of high-quality development.

Finally, the Vice Chairman of the Social Development and Social Security Professional Committee of the Chinese Sociological Association and the Director of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University announced the list of new application members and youth members to Yunhua.
