【Abstract】How to stimulate consumption and enhance the resilience of economic development is an important issue in the implementation of the strategy of expanding domestic demand. The impact of long-term care insurance on household consumption was investigated using CHARLS data and multi-point DIDs. The results show that long-term care insurance has a significant crowding effect on total household consumption and household food consumption. Reducing income uncertainty and expenditure uncertainty is an important mechanism for long-term care insurance to promote household consumption. The study provides policy enlightenment for the upgrading of consumption quality: reasonably improve the population coverage, project coverage and nursing service quality of long-term care insurance, and tilt the policy efforts towards vulnerable groups.
