On the morning of June 9, "Teaching and Learning Revolution" Luojia Forum School of Politics and Public Administration - 2023 Labor and Social security undergraduate graduates Symposium was successfully held in Conference Room 107 of the Center for Social Security Studies of Wuhan University. The meeting was chaired by Associate Professor Xue Huiyuan, Deputy Director of the Department of Public Economics and Social Security and the Center; Professor Wang Zengwen, Deputy Dean of the School of Political Science and Public Administration; Professor Rong Zhi, Deputy Dean (temporary) of the School of Political Science and Public Administration; Professor Meng Yingying, Director of the Department of Public Economics and Social Security; Associate Professor Liu Zhiying, Associate Professor Zhang Ping, Associate Professor Fu Zheng, Associate Professor Hong Li, Associate Professor Zhao Qing, Professor Huang Ruting and other teachers of labor and social security majors attended the conference, and 21 undergraduate students of labor and social security majors participated in the event.

At the beginning of the meeting, teacher Xue Huiyuan explained that the symposium was aimed at strengthening the communication between teachers and students of social security majors, encouraging graduates to speak freely and feedback the problems and shortcomings in the undergraduate education and teaching of social security majors. The teachers and students have in-depth discussion and offer suggestions for improving the training quality of undergraduates majoring in social security.

Students combined with their own four years of professional learning experience, put forward a lot of valuable suggestions. Some students' speeches focused on the cultivation path of undergraduates' professional academic ability, believing that undergraduates' academic ability should be trained earlier and more systematically and comprehensively. For example, Wei Huayi and Lu Lu suggested that undergraduates could be introduced to authoritative journals in their majors as soon as possible and guided to scientific and in-depth literature reading; Shen Tianshu pointed out that academic activities, academic lectures and other information transmission channels should be smooth; Niu Mengyao suggested that the number of academic papers for undergraduates should be increased, and standardized essay writing training should be conducted as early as possible to pave the way for the writing of graduation papers. Hu Yingjie and Li Daowei both believe that professional teaching should be related to reality and combined with the hot topics of the major. Li Daowei also proposed that a public account of the hot topics of the subject could be built to facilitate undergraduates to track the hot topics of the subject in time. Some students put forward suggestions for specific courses in undergraduate training: for example, some students think that courses such as human resource management in their major can increase the knowledge density and introduce the knowledge of human resource management to students more comprehensively; Sun Yuyin believes that the study of quantitative methods can be strengthened by combining data analysis model in professional training, increasing software practice, and cultivating undergraduates' scientific research practice ability. Luo Kun also suggested that courses related to the history of social security development could be added to pave the way for professional learning. Yang Jinkui thinks that group work should be randomly assigned to enhance students' ability to cooperate.

Some students' speeches focused on the connection between classroom teaching and practical employment. For example, Zhang Suqing thinks that students can provide earlier employment guidance and pay more attention to job hunting and employment. Li Guo suggested that more professional visit and practice activities related to Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, medical Insurance Bureau, Civil Affairs Bureau, etc. should be combined with professional practice.

The teachers listened carefully to the opinions and suggestions of the students and responded from the perspective of teachers. Teacher Wang Zengwen proposed that students should exercise their self-study ability, take the initiative to build their own tool system, more importantly, mobilize their own internal drive, take the initiative to communicate with teachers, and balance the basic and side work, knowledge and practice, external and internal search, etc., read more and accumulate more; Professor Zhao Qing said that he will strive to increase the visiting practice activities of undergraduates, and guide students to gradually transition to scientific research; Mr Fu responded that he would consider re-opening the course "Econometrics" and reported to the College the problem of insufficient laboratory slots; Teacher Zhang Ping pointed out that students are welcome to strengthen communication with teachers, and hope that students can be prepared in advance when asking relevant questions, and give play to their own subjective initiative; Meng Yingying teacher sent a message to the graduates, hoping that the students can have a strong body, while not forgetting the original intention, live up to their youth; Ms. Liu Zhiying said that she would strengthen communication with students and try to avoid repetition of subsequent courses when teaching the course. Teacher Hong Li stressed the importance of theoretical accumulation, and hoped students to enhance their initiative; Ms. Huang Ruting said that she would offer courses to guide essay writing and explain some classic and cutting-edge papers. She also welcomed students to communicate with her. Mr. Xue Huiyuan made targeted responses to the six questions that the students reflected relatively concentrated employment caliber, internship practice, academic papers, academic tutors, scientific research ability training, reading clubs and academic lectures, saying that the department will fully absorb the opinions and suggestions of the students and reflect them in the future professional construction and undergraduate training.

Then Rong Zhi, vice president of the College in charge of undergraduate teaching, gave a concluding speech. He gave feedback on the questions raised by the students, and also congratulated the graduates of 2023 on successfully completing their undergraduate studies and entering a new stage of life. At the same time, Vice President Rong Zhi encouraged the students to forge ahead in the long road of life and avoid lying flat. I also hope that the students will not forget their Alma mater, and will always be strict with the standards of Wuhan University students in the future.

Finally, the host teacher Xue announced the successful conclusion of the symposium, and wished the graduates a bright future and a bright future. May the students leave half their lives and return as a teenager in Luojia!
