On the morning of July 2, the first Executive Council of the Hubei Public Administration Research Association (hereinafter referred to as the "Research Association") in 2023 was successfully held in the conference room of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University. The meeting was sponsored by the Hubei Public Administration Research Association and hosted by the School of Politics and Public Administration of Wuhan University and the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University. The association's advisor, President, Secretary general, vice president and more than 20 executive directors attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Professor Yin Jun, Secretary General of the Research Association and School of Politics and Public Administration of Wuhan University, and Professor Rong Zhi, deputy dean (temporary) of School of Politics and Public Administration of Wuhan University, attended the meeting.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Chen Jianhua, advisor of the Research Association and former secretary of the Discipline Inspection Committee of Hubei University of Chinese Medicine, addressed the conference. He said that the development of the research association has made remarkable achievements today, which embodies the hard work of generations of members and is the result of the common struggle of all members. It is hoped that under the leadership of President Xiang Yunhua, the Research Association can further promote the innovative development of work, and do a good job in the three aspects of party building study, strengthening publicity and deepening cooperation.

Subsequently, Professor Xiang Yunhua, President of the Association and director of the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University, delivered a welcome speech and a work report to the conference. In the past two years, on the basis of summing up experience, under the support and care of the leaders of the Hubei Provincial Civil Affairs Department and the Provincial Federation of Social Science, the new Council of the Association, bearing in mind the mission, never forgetting the original intention, firmly taking every step, has contributed its own strength in promoting academic research, participating in local public management practice, and thriving public management education. President Xiang Yunhua made a report from the four aspects of team construction, party building study, annual inspection work and business work, analyzed the current shortcomings, and shared the next work arrangement with you. He pointed out that the executive director of the Research society should speak clearly about politics, take the lead in in-depth learning and understanding of the Party and national policies, take the initiative to adapt to the current new situation, new tasks and new requirements of public management development, and constantly enhance their own development vitality, and also hope to listen to the work suggestions of the executive director units, crowdfunding wisdom, and seek common development.

The participants spoke one by one, expressing their opinions and making suggestions for the development of the research society. It is suggested that the research association should establish a cooperative research mechanism, try to declare projects in cooperation with multiple member units, and strengthen joint research with government units and enterprises; It is suggested to set up sub-committees and innovate the member liaison mechanism; It is suggested that the Standing Council and the annual meeting should take the form of member units taking turns to fully deepen the learning exchange between member units and so on.

After listening to the work suggestions of the vice presidents, Secretary General Yin Jun responded that the secretariat of the Research Society should continue to adhere to service first, pay close attention to its own construction, gather strength and unite, and push the work of the Research society to a new level.

Following the agenda of the meeting, the participants had a full discussion on the preparations for the 2023 and 2024 annual meetings. The meeting agreed that the organizer of the 2023 annual meeting of Hubei Public Administration Research Association is the School of Public Administration of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and the organizer of the 2024 annual meeting is the School of Public Administration of Central China Normal University.

Finally, President Xiang Yunhua summarized the meeting, he said that the opinions of the vice presidents and executive directors have enriched the ideas of the future construction of the research association, and will continue to improve the working mechanism of the research association after the meeting, adhere to the innovation, improve the service level, and strive to write a new chapter of high-quality development of the research association.
