In order to further strengthen the process management and follow-up research work of the subject, on the morning of August 18, 2023, the seminar of the major project of philosophy and social science research of the Ministry of Education, "Research on Social Security Issues of retired soldiers", was held in the Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University. The meeting was chaired by Professor Deng Dasong, Director of the Academic Committee of Wuhan University Social Security Research Center and chief expert of the project. Professor Lu Guoquan from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Professor Zheng Chuanfeng from Army Service College, Professor Wang Zengwen from School of Politics and Public Administration of Wuhan University, Professor Xiang Yunhua from Director of Social Security Research Center of Wuhan University, Associate Professor Xue Huiyuan from Deputy Director of the Center and other sub-project leaders, Dr. Yang Jing, Assistant Professor, School of Public Administration, Hunan University; Dr. Zhang Yi, Lecturer, School of Labor Economics, Capital University of Economics and Business; Duan Yanan, PhD student of the Center, and other members of the research group attended the meeting.

At the meeting, Associate Professor Xue Huiyuan focused on the research plan and expected objectives of the project, and launched a series of reports on the interim inspection results of the project and the phased achievements since the project was established. Since the project was established, more than 10 papers related to the project have been published in core journals at home and abroad, more than 10 consulting reports have been adopted by higher departments or approved by leaders, and the final results of the project have been written and completed 250,000 words. On the whole, the project has achieved certain results and produced a certain social impact, but there is still a certain gap from the completion of the goal.

Professor Deng Dasong, the lead expert of the project, made a report on the expenditure of the project, reviewed the research ideas of the project, and asked the members of the research group to continue in-depth research, and then focused on the micro-social investigation, CSSCI paper publication, consultation report submission, final results writing and polishing, so as to successfully complete the follow-up research tasks.

Afterwards, the participating experts exchanged and discussed the research situation of each sub-topic one by one according to the division of tasks, pooled their wisdom, and put forward targeted optimization and improvement suggestions for the topic. The holding of this seminar solved some confusion in the research process of the research group members, and pointed out the direction for the later research.
